Officially closed in early Q2 2025, the transaction plays a strategic role in the growth of Ripple Fiber’s fiber internet network across the country
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — May 8, 2025 — Ripple Fiber, a rapidly expanding fiber optic network builder and operator headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, announces the completion of its strategic merger with sister company, HyperFiber. While the formal merger has just been completed, the two companies have already effectively been operating as a unified organization since 2024, collaboratively developing markets and delivering service to customers. The Ripple Fiber brand will continue as the market-facing identity for the combined entity, which now stands as one of the fastest-growing independent FTTH providers in the United States, with operations across the country.
“This merger formalizes the integration, strengthening our operational structure as we pursue ambitious growth under the unified Ripple Fiber brand,” said Greg Wilson, Founder and CEO of Ripple Fiber. “Our teams have already been working hand-in-hand to leverage our proprietary, patent-pending machine learning platform that analyzes over 100 variables per premise in real-time. This technology, alongside our shared AEX OSS/BSS automation platform, combined with our exceptional build economics, enables us to expand efficiently while maintaining industry-leading customer penetration rates. By officially consolidating under the Ripple Fiber brand, we’ve created the structure needed to support our plan to build 1.2 million new passings across 15 states over the next five years.”
The executive leadership from both companies had already been functioning as an integrated team well before the formal merger completion, combining complementary strengths and extensive industry expertise. Greg Wilson continues as CEO of the combined company under the Ripple Fiber brand, while Dan Kennedy has transitioned from CEO of HyperFiber to Executive Chairman with Ripple Fiber.
“This merger formalizes what was always envisaged from the beginning, bringing our complementary organizations together under a single brand,” said Dan Kennedy, in his capacity as Executive Chairman of Ripple Fiber. “We’ve been collaborating together almost from day one, jointly selecting expansion areas, breaking ground in exciting markets, and providing service to amazing communities. Our combined leadership team brings over 200 years of telecom industry experience and a proven track record of M&A execution. The transparent pricing, exceptional customer service, and community impact that both companies have been known for will continue as defining characteristics of the Ripple Fiber brand, and we’re well-positioned to lead strategic M&A in our industry.”
The projected footprint of the combined company under the Ripple Fiber brand encompasses a national presence across 10 states, coast-to-coast by the end of 2025. Ripple Fiber and HyperFiber have always shared the same core value propositions, maintaining a clear focus on transparent pricing, next-level customer service, market presence, and community impact. This established synchronicity between the two providers has already proven effective and will be pivotal as the unified Ripple Fiber brand expands into new markets.
The integration will follow a phased approach, with current HyperFiber markets continuing to operate under the HyperFiber brand in the near term to ensure a seamless customer experience. This structured approach will minimize any potential disruption while maximizing the strategic benefits of the combined operations.
Backed by Platform Investment Partners, KLT Holdings and Myriad Capital, this transaction marks the next evolution of Ripple Fiber’s growth strategy as a best-in-class, pure-play FTTH growth platform with aggressive ambitions for the future of broadband in the United States. These seasoned fiber investors bring decades of financial and operational experience in building market-leading fiber platforms across numerous jurisdictions and have been instrumental in the operational integration already achieved between the companies.
