Operators can now deploy RtBrick’s standalone Network Address Translation solution on open switch hardware
17 March, Fremont, California – RtBrick today announced an expansion to its industry-leading disaggregated routing software by adding support for Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT) on standalone open-switches powered by Broadcom’s Qumran2c chipset. This allows operators to replace traditional, proprietary CGNAT appliances with cost-effective, high-performance open networking hardware.
CGNAT, also known as ‘NAT444’, translates large volumes of private IPv4 addresses into public IPv4 addresses, addressing today’s ongoing IPv4 exhaustion while ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for millions of users and devices.

Announced in February 2024, RtBrick was the first to deliver CGNAT as an in-line feature within its Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) software running on open switches. Now, by extending standalone CGNAT support to open switches and taking advantage of powerful, widely-adopted Broadcom Qumran2c chipset, RtBrick is offering operators a flexible, scalable alternative to traditional CGNAT devices.
