- Digital architecture provided by the companies guarantees Ambev a more dynamic and automated logistics operation;
- Project facilitates the insertion of solutions based on IoT, AI and Big Data, fostering the generation of data for important decision-making.
December 16, 2024 — A benchmark in the orchestration of private networks in Brazil, Vivo is increasing its share of the domestic market and has signed an agreement with Ambev to bring private connectivity to 30 of the company’s locations, such as warehouses, factories, logistics and distribution centers, with the possibility of expanding to other areas. The project is being made possible in partnership with Nokia, a leader in the segment, which is responsible for supplying the private 4G network infrastructure. The aim is to increase the efficiency of Ambev’s logistics operation through improved internal mobility, with a more efficient sharing of information between the connected spaces, as well as the automation of the areas covered.
The solution provided by Vivo supports Ambev’s progress in its digitalization journey, with the more agile and effective implementation of a digital ecosystem based on the Internet of Things (IoT), AI and Big Data, capable of transforming data into intelligence, contributing strategically to decision-making in order to gain efficiency, security and reduce costs.
“Private networks accelerate digitalization processes through connectivity that is designed specifically for our customers’ essential requirements, making operations more efficient, productive and intelligent. Our product, which is a pioneering solution within the market, offers reliability and robustness for various applications and facilitates the insertion of connected devices throughout the operational plant,” says Adriano Pereira, director of IoT, Big Data and B2B Innovation at Vivo. “The agreement leverages several digital transformation initiatives that are already underway at Ambev and paves the way for new solutions,” says Pereira.
With private network solutions, organizations can meet important needs, such as higher security, with guaranteed end-to-end transmission; mobility, with automated or robotized production lines; traffic prioritization, with thousands of sensors and devices connected in different use cases; interference-free, with a licensed spectrum that does not allow other services to interfere in the production environment; massive connections, which allow for a high volume of IoT applications with real-time data transmission and reporting, and end-to-end connectivity.
“As the market leader in 4G and 5G private networks, we are proud to partner with Vivo to deliver a state-of-the-art private network solution that is promoting greater agility, efficiency and security for logistics operations. Nokia Modular Private Wireless (MPW) was designed to meet the high demands of industrial applications, such as IoT, AI and Big Data, which are essential to Ambev’s digital transformation journey,” comments Marcelo Entreconti, Head of Enterprise Campus Edge Business, Latin America at Nokia.
