Bulk Infrastructure strengthens large-scale data center development capabilities with new Chief Development Officer

Richard Brandon joins Bulk Infrastructure (Bulk) as Chief Development Officer. Brandon’s experience of large-scale European data center design and construction projects, deep understanding of complex data center operations and development, coupled with a proven track record of successful project delivery, will support Bulk’s capability to deliver data centers solutions to large international customers.

This strategic hire underscores Bulk’s commitment to meet the large-scale demand from hyper-scalers and other large customers. Brandon brings a wealth of experience from the European data center sector, positioning Bulk to further solidify its position as a leading provider of scalable, sustainable and secure infrastructure solutions in the Nordics.

Brandon has during his 24 years in the data center industry held a number of senior positions on both the operator side and with service providers. He has previously led major data center development programs across the UK and Europe for companies including CBRE, Digital Realty and Structure Tone. Most recently he was head of development for CyrusOne Europe, where he scaled-up and led a multi-billion Euro data center development program across seven key European markets.

“We are delighted to welcome Richard to the Bulk team. As a data center development veteran, his extensive experience of large size hyperscale construction is spot on. With more than 300 MW of new power coming live at our core sites in 2027 and more large scale-locations being developed elsewhere in the Nordics, Richard will lead our build projects to support customers with 100 MW size type of developments,” says Jon Gravråk, CEO Bulk.

“Bulk offers a unique combination of a scalable platform, strategic pan-Nordic position, solid infrastructure portfolio and industrial competence ready to further cater for the large-scale global demand. Being part of Bulk’s growth journey and contributing to their future success was a key motivation factor,” says Brandon.

In addition, Bulk continues to benefit from the advisory of Jan Arve Haugan, who brings deep industrial know-how to the company. Haugan, a veteran of large-scale infrastructure projects in Norway and internationally, has successfully delivered and operated several high-profile infrastructure assets for industrial giants such as Aker and Norsk Hydro.

Based in Oslo, Norway, with branches in Norway and Denmark, Bulk offer highly adaptable, interconnected, and scalable data centers supporting AI, HPC, and Hyperscale IT workloads, backed by essential fiber networking capabilities.

Bulk has a number of operational data center campuses, including N01 Data Center Campus a 300-hectare site in Kristiansand in the south of Norway, where the company has secured 400 MW with potential up to 1GW.
