Adam Board Appointed SVP of Environmental Health and Safety to Support T5 Data Centers’ Expansion

ATLANTA, Ga. – Sept. 12, 2024 – T5 Data Centers (T5), the data center industry’s only Forever On capacity and integrated lifecycle services provider, proudly announces the appointment of Adam Board as Senior Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS). This newly created position reflects T5’s commitment to continued advancement of its EHS capabilities supporting its employees and customers as the company continues to grow.

In his role, Board will be pivotal in shaping and overseeing EHS strategies and policies across all T5’s development, construction, and operations businesses. This leadership role underscores T5’s dedication to maintaining high safety standards and fostering a robust safety culture amidst its rapid growth in North America and Europe.

Board joins T5 from Google, where he most recently held the role of Regional EHS Manager with responsibility for managing safety for new construction from Texas to Minnesota.

With a BA in Safety Management from Murray State University in Kentucky and a rich career in EHS across various sectors, Board brings a wealth of experience to T5 Data Centers. His impressive background, especially with hyperscale data center construction, equips him to further grow and develop EHS standards and programs for T5 Data Centers.

His experience includes managing safety protocols for large-scale semiconductor builds with Rosendin Electric and overseeing mission-critical data center EHS operations at JE Dunn Construction.  Prior to joining Google, Adam led the entire safety program for CPG as National Safety Director where he developed and implemented comprehensive safety programs.

Board’s decision to join T5 Data Centers was a deliberate one, influenced by his previous work and respect for COO Tom Mertz’s leadership style, which Board finds closely aligns with his own.

“The opportunity to work under Tom Mertz again and contribute to T5’s ambitious growth plans was a key factor in my decision,” Board said. “T5’s strategic position in the data center industry and its potential for further domestic and international expansion makes this a very exciting time to be part of the team.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Adam Board as our new Senior Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety,” said Tom Mertz, COO of T5 Data Centers. “His extensive experience and proven track record in EHS will be instrumental as we grow and expand. Adam’s appointment is a strategic move to solidify our commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards across all our operations. With his leadership, we are confident in our ability to uphold and enhance our record of excellent safety performance, ensuring a secure and thriving environment for our employees and clients.”

Board is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and holds certifications as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST). His approach to safety emphasizes building trust and empowering workers to address unsafe conditions proactively.

Originally from Louisville, KY, Board resides in Minnesota where he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family, including his wife of eight years and their two young children.
