John Schmitt has been named Vice President of Business Development and will cultivate opportunities in new and existing market segments, while Joe Patton, named Vice President of Sales, will manage the national sales team covering 21 metro markets.

As a 16-year telecommunications industry veteran, Mr. Schmitt is spearheading FiberLight’s goal to offer clients custom network solutions. “While FiberLight focuses on recurring MRR, we also recognize the value of providing purpose- built networks that can be capitalized by the customer,” Mr. Schmitt said. “In addition, as FiberLight is able to design, construct and build networks to government specifications, we are able to position FiberLight as the business model for companies seeking a middle-mile provider to meet federal requirements for the Broadband Initiatives Program.”
Joe Patton joined Fiberlight in April of 2007 bringing with him more than 18 years experience in the combined fields of customer service and sales management in the wholesale carrier market. Prior to joining Fiberlight, Joe worked with several of the largest carriers, including 10 years with MCI. “As the explosion of bandwidth requirements for storage, data replication and high bandwidth transport of voice, data and video continues to increase, FiberLight is well positioned to meet the demand in our core markets and through new opportunities.”
