Driving growth and a renewed sense of purpose: DTW24 – Ignite Global Summit closes with optimism and vigor

Copenhagen, June 20th, 2024 – TM Forum, the leading global alliance of telco and tech companies, today concluded its biggest and most successful DTW – Ignite Global Summit. Across the three days, 3,895 delegates came together to tackle the industry’s most pressing challenges head-on, united by a common goal to drive growth and find new purpose in the AI era.

Responding to last year’s ‘code red’ warning from TM Forum, a record number of industry professionals, including more than 1,000 from Communication Service Provider (CSPs), converged on Copenhagen to reimagine the role of telco in the AI era. On stage, senior leaders from CSPs, hyperscalers, software vendors and systems integrators rallied to the cause. Across the packed agenda of keynotes, masterclasses, live demonstrations, innovation showcases and hackathons, there was a clear focus on reimagining the industry’s purpose through collaboration and co-innovation.

Debuting this year, TM Forum’s Executive network, TEN100 convened CEOs, CTOs, CIOs and CFOs to take collective leadership for three new strategic Missions, developed by TM Forum members to underpin growth:

  • Composable IT & Ecosystems – delivering a plug & play, AI-fluent ecosystem
  • Autonomous Network Operations – enabling seamless, intelligent automation at scale
  • Data & AI Innovation – unleashing new revenue streams

“From the main stage to private roundtables, the telecoms industry has stepped up to the challenge laid down nine months ago. This week we’ve seen a crisper focus, more courage and optimism, ready to reimagine our value proposition in the emerging AI era. To connect. To protect. To create new value by opening our capabilities,” said Nik Willetts, CEO, TM Forum.

“This week in Copenhagen, we saw how this future can be realized: with our members and through our strategic Missions. With a 21% increase in CSP attendance, it’s clear that DTW – Ignite is the place where the industry convenes to co-create answers. The time for talk is over – we need action.”

That pace was evident across the three days, with the launch of ODA Component & Canvas Certification, new industry collaborations within the API partner program and real-world outcomes and impact delivered through the new TM Forum Innovation Engine.

TM Forum thanks its show partners and sponsors, including diamond partners Amdocs and AWS and platinum partners Beyond Now, Ericsson, Huawei, Netcracker, Oracle and Tecnotree. The full list of show partners and sponsors is here.
