BOISE, Idaho – October 17, 2023 – Involta, an award-winning data center, hybrid IT and cloud-forward consulting firm, proudly announces the launch of the Idaho Internet Exchange (IdahoIX), located within Involta’s state-of-the-art, purpose built data center in Boise, Idaho.
The IdahoIX is a not-for-profit, groundbreaking endeavor, the first of its kind in the state, uniting various stakeholders within the internet ecosystem. This initiative creates a collaborative platform for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), transport carriers, mobile and content providers, and internet users to seamlessly exchange internet traffic through a shared switch fabric hosted within Involta’s Boise data center.
This transformative internet exchange enables participants to peer directly, eliminating the need for third-party carriers and significantly enhancing local connectivity.
