Veea’s multi-protocol IoT connectivity and edge compute utilized in full stack FarmGrid application for data-driven farming
NEW YORK, June 27, 2023 — Veea Inc., a leader in integrated smart edge connectivity, computing and security technologies, announced that Trilogy Networks, the leader in AI-powered precision agricultural infrastructure and data-driven farming solutions, has integrated Veea’s connectivity and edge compute platforms into Trilogy’s FarmGridTM solution in the newly launched Dakota Innovation Corridor Project (Dakota*ICP).
“We want to empower app developers with multiple wireless protocols across the farm to accelerate solutions development and adoption,” said Venky Swaminathan, co-founder and CTO at Trilogy. ”Veea’s edge computing platform provides the flexibility to implement true digital solutions to challenges that farmers face every day.”
The Dakota*ICP, the largest precision ag infrastructure deployment in the world, includes 25 large family-owned farms operating more than 150,000 acres west of Fargo. Every farm will have access to Trilogy’s FarmGrid, the world’s only cloud native AI-powered full-stack precision agriculture infrastructure solution, as well as the 10-gigabit ultra-high-speed broadband network provided by MLGC.
Trilogy’s FarmGrid, enabled by Veea, includes private 5G networks and indoor VHE-10 and outdoor VHH-10 VeeaHub models to provide farm-wide secure and meshed Wi-Fi and multi-protocol (Bluetooth, Zigbee, & LoRa) IoT connectivity.
“We’re proud to enable Trilogy’s full-stack precision agriculture infrastructure with ubiquitous connectivity for autonomous farming and data-driven decisions,” said Mark Tubinis, Chief Commercial Officer, Veea. “A 6,000 acre farm requires every wireless protocol to drive microclimate and soil sensors, as well as autonomous vehicles and drones. And all of that data will be processed by our Veea Edge Services for secure remote access that empowers farmers to make the best decisions for their land and their business.”
FarmGrid provides ag-focused artificial intelligence, aerial imagery processing, advanced soil analytics, microclimate monitoring, and autonomy, all designed to deliver automation and time-sensitive actionable information to the 2.1 million growers in the U.S.
The Dakota*ICP is engineered to enable, validate, and accelerate the adoption of data-driven farming practices to increase yields, lower costs, and improve profitability while lowering environmental impacts. In addition to benefiting farmers, the data will drive highly valued business intelligence that can be marketed to the multi-billion dollar seed, nutrient, and crop protection industries, in addition to large agricultural enterprises and the entire agri-food industry.
Veea is already integrated with Trilogy’s FarmGrid in a partnership with Microclimates for a precision agriculture infrastructure deployment for indoor climate-controlled environments with Hurst Farms and Greenery, a Westboro, Missouri based business that operates 30 greenhouses, comprising 130,000 square feet under cultivation.
