Wisconsin Schools select Unite Private Networks to provide Fiber Optic WANs

Unite Private Networks (UPN) today announced agreements to provide data services over a Fiber Optic Wide Area Network for the Columbus, Wisconsin School District & Wautoma, Wisconsin School District. The long term agreements call for UPN to provide GigE Fiber Optic Network connectivity to all school facilities between the Districts’ school buildings.

“The Districts were both searching for a cost effective plan to connect their school facilities and upgrade bandwidth to fiber. Our value proposition, combined with the Federal E-Rate program, delivers substantially more bandwidth now and in the future” said Steve Bergeron, Vice President of Business Development for UPN. “Both Districts provide key partnerships for UPN as we begin to grow our Wisconsin footprint.”

UPN provides high-bandwidth, fiber-based communications networks to schools, government, carriers, data centers, hospitals, and enterprise business customers. UPN currently has customers located in 19 states throughout the U.S.

“We’re very pleased with the solution UPN provided.” said Chet Bembenek, Technology Manager for the Columbus School District. “Their unique fiber network offering will help us with our goals of having the bandwidth we need today at competitive prices, while positioning us for the future growth of our school district network. While leveraging technology is vital to the school district, helping prepare our students for the future is key to their success.”

“We are excited with the solution UPN is providing.” said Corey Koltz, Technology Coordinator at Wautoma Schools. “Their unique value proposition will allow us to get the bandwidth we need now and in the future, at stabilized competitive prices. Now we’ll have a network and the broadband connectivity we need for the future.”

UPN continues to be the go-to partner for districts looking to find high bandwidth, long term solutions, beyond what the typical ILEC or cable company can provide,” said Rob Oyler, Chief Marketing Officer at UPN. “We continue to find success with districts looking to control their own destiny.”
