NWT Enterprises, a service provider in next-generation IP network and broadband services for residential and business-market segments in the USA, announces today its selection of Tinet, a Neutral Tandem company (NASDAQ:TNDM, news, filings) and a global carrier focused on the IP Transit and Ethernet wholesale markets, to deliver IP Transit services via 10Gb ports in Washington DC, New York City, Atlanta, Miami and additional markets over the next 24 Months.
As the relationship between the two companies expands, NWT Enterprises also seeks to connect via an External Network to Network Interface (E- NNI) utilizing Tinet’s EtherCloudSM service. EtherCloud is a Layer 2 platform connecting diverse partner networks into a seamless Ethernet cloud that delivers end-to-end connectivity around the world. It relies on Tinet’s global MPLS backbone as a distributed switched network. EtherCloud is currently present at 120 Points of Presence (PoPs) in four continents, to interconnect partners’ networks, through standardized E-NNIs.
Based in Cumberland, Maryland, NWT Enterprises is focused on increasing its availability and level of bandwidth services. The company recently acquired fiber with breakout availability throughout the state of Maryland, including Washington, DC. The service provider is also presently building out a fiber network in the state of Florida, and has Indefeasible Rights of Use (IRU) agreements in place to a new fiber build that will connect many Tier 1 US Markets.
