ATLANTA – April 4, 2011 – Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ:INAP, news, filings), a leading provider of IT infrastructure services, today announced that Accelerated IP (XIP), a service-based Internet traffic accelerator that improves performance of enterprise web services and applications by up to four times, is now available across the company’s global data center footprint. XIP complements Internap’s Performance IP™ route-optimized network connectivity to deliver a superior end-user experience via end-to-end network optimization.
As enterprises increasingly deliver dynamic content, applications and services over the Internet, the performance of the underlying network has become a key priority to support differentiation and drive growth. With its ability to deliver mission-critical, latency-sensitive Internet content to geographically dispersed users, XIP is achieving significant customer adoption.
Jolokia Networks, a provider of hosting, streaming and IT services, turned to Internap to accelerate the delivery of cloud-based applications for customers with a wide network of international end users. XIP has significantly reduced latency and improved application performance for traffic between Jolokia’s hosting sites in Europe and North America, resulting in a 40% web page load time improvement. Complete Jolokia case study available here.
“As a provider of both content delivery and hosting services, Jolokia serves a customer base seeking to make Software-as-as-Service offerings more efficient, scalable and cost-effective. XIP gives us a competitive edge by enabling a best-in-class performance infrastructure that few companies can match,” said Mark Pace, co-founder and chief technology officer of Jolokia Networks. “XIP has dramatically improved our network performance, offering our customers a more reliable experience delivering dynamic content globally.”
Concurrent (NASDAQ: CCUR), a global leader in video and media data and advertising solutions, also is using XIP to reduce latency for its globally distributed SaaS customers. XIP has accelerated Concurrent’s application transmission speeds by up to four times. Requiring access to a high-performance, globally-distributed network, Concurrent selected XIP for its flexible “Acceleration-as-a-Service” model that enables Concurrent to virtually extend the reach of its U.S. Data center and provide its customer with uninterrupted, reliable and timely service.
“Businesses today have officially entered the next phase of the Internet: ‘acceleration.’ Slow sites and poor web performance can have grave implications for businesses. Even one second of latency can result in a 7% reduction of customer conversion and lost revenue,” said Amar Khan, vice president of IP Services at Internap. “The adoption of XIP among our Performance IP customers is clear evidence of the prioritization of acceleration. The high-performance network is the competitive edge businesses require in today’s content-driven market.”
On April 6, 2011, Internap will host a webinar, “What’s your Network Riding On?” Internap’s Khan will address the benefits of TCP traffic acceleration, and Jolokia CTO, Mark Pace, will discuss how XIP helped dramatically improve delivery of rich media and file-based content for his customers.
