A new independent global report reveals that European communication service providers (CSPs) are dominating quality mobile network experiences, with Ericsson partners featuring prominently in the top 30 list.
Independent data crowdsourcing company Tutela’s annual Global State of Mobile Experience report 2021 reveals Ericsson customers leading the way in mobile network experiences in their benchmarks.
Danish digital infrastructure provider, TDC NET, was ranked number one for delivering the best mobile experiences in the world.
Ericsson is the sole supplier of the TDC NET network for radio, core and managed services – operations and optimization – across 3G, 4G and 5G.
TDC NET had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality score at 90.37 percent. This represents how often connections are good enough for demanding applications such 1080p video streaming, HD group video calling and live mobile gaming.
The figures are based on 2.3 billion speed and latency tests performed on smartphones by ordinary users between 21 August 2020 and 20 August 2021.
Andreas Pfisterer, CEO & President, TDC NET, says: “This is a great testament to the hard work done across the organization over the past years to futureproof our mobile network, among others by having upgraded our 4G network and rolled-out nationwide 5G – making sure we deliver the best possible mobile experience for our customers and for the many daily users on our mobile network. Thank you to all my TDC NET colleagues and our partner Ericsson for the collaboration and this great achievement!”
Jenny Lindqvist, Head of Northern and Central Europe, Ericsson, says: “As TDC NET’s sole supplier for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G RAN and Core as well as Managed Services we are extremely proud to be supporting them as they work to provide their Danish customers and mobile users with high-performing networks and a mobile experience like no other. It all comes back to our purpose, here at Ericsson – to create connections that make the unimaginable possible. With reliable connections, high speeds for fast uploads and downloads, as well as low latency and low packet loss, we’re able to help TDC NET bring better, faster, stronger connectivity to the people of Denmark. A massive congratulations to TDC NET, and indeed to all of our customers who feature on the list. I would also like to extend a big thank you to my Ericsson colleagues who have been involved in these successful collaborations.”
TDC NET completed a nationwide 5G deployment in December 2020 using AI and data-driven Ericsson Operations Engine Managed Services, Ericsson Radio System solutions and Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G Core.
Overall, Denmark was the global leader in mobile experience with the highest Excellent Consistent Quality result of 86.16 percent, followed by Finland and South Korea tying statistically for the second place. Netherlands and Austria were the other two countries in the top five leader board with scores of 85.38 percent and 83.02 percent respectively.
