SYDNEY, 7 March 2011 – Pacnet, Asia’s leading business telecommunications service provider, today announced the launch of its new range of business-grade DSL Internet plans and a complimentary speed upgrade for its DSL subscribers on lower speed plans.
“The explosion of rich online media such as high definition video has led to an increased demand for higher bandwidth speeds. To meet the increased bandwidth needs of our subscribers, we have provided a complimentary upgrade for our DSL subscribers who used to be on lower than 1.5 Mbps plans, to our high-speed 1.5 Mbps plans ,” said Deborah Homewood, Chief Executive Officer of Pacnet Australia.
Pacnet also launched a new range of plans that answer continued demand from Pacnet business customers to manage the increasing amounts of data they use each month to run web-based activities and applications. Last year’s Pacnet Broadband Barometer, a study into the state of play of the Australian ICT market, revealed a strong interest in hosted data backup, storage and archival with 60% of respondents indicating they plan to adopt these services in 2011.
“Pacnet has responded to the increased bandwidth needs of business users in a number of ways. Not only have we almost doubled our largest bundled data plan from 300GB to 500GB, we can now also offer the flexibility to accommodate more complex business requests with DIY options where you choose your Internet speed and add blocks of data downloads as required,” said Ms Homewood.
All Pacnet Internet plans are business grade, come with a static IP address, 10 free mailboxes and a dial-up back up account. Excess data is charged at 3.3c/MB and contract lengths range from month-to-month, 12 month and 24 month.
