Infrastructure for America (IFA), a newly formed 501(c)(4) organization, launched today as a national platform giving voice to the people who build, power, support, and benefit from data centers across the United States.
Founded by four data center developers committed to responsible development and growth — Compass Datacenters, Digital Realty, QTS, and Vantage Data Centers — IFA will support constructive, fact-based conversations about data centers and their role in strengthening local communities through infrastructure investment, lasting community partnerships, increased tax revenue, and job creation.
Data centers have become an increasingly important part of the nation’s infrastructure and economy, powering everything from everyday digital activities and cloud computing to artificial intelligence. But public conversations about their growth do not always reflect the perspectives of the workers who build and operate them, the residents who live in surrounding communities, or the local leaders responsible for making decisions about development and investment.
As communities weigh real questions about energy use, water resources, and land development, IFA was created to ensure that those closest to the issue help shape the answers. The organization brings together community leaders, workers, businesses, educators, residents and other stakeholders who share an interest in responsible data center growth and informed public dialogue.
