[Shanghai, China, Aug 20, 2026] Recently Huawei released SingleRAN 22.1, the first commercial software version specifically released for the Mobile AI era, successfully building a multi-dimensional capability network foundation for operators in the mobile AI era and leading the large-scale implementation of mobile AI technology.

SingleRAN 22.1 software Version incorporates six key innovative solutions, including GigaUplink, GigaBand, iBeam 3.0, IDEA, “0 Bit 0 Watt 0 Loss” and RANSpirit. As the first version that supports Huawei’s new-generation UBBPi series baseband boards, it integrates advanced algorithms into baseband technologies, providing diversified network capabilities to meet the surging demand for mobile AI services. As of now, SingleRAN 22.1 has met all General Availability criteria and been put into commercial use by 35 operators in 23 countries. The multidimensional capability improvements and experience guarantee SingleRAN22.1 enables networks to better support more types of agent services.

Six Technologies for Mobile AI-Ready Network Capabilities

  • GigaUplink: In terms of hardware, FDD 8T8R and massive MIMO are used to build uplink capabilities. In terms of software, features such as intelligent multi-layer converged uplink reception and enhanced uplink CoMP are used to systematically suppress uplink interference. Live network validation resulted in a more than 30% increase in uplink throughput along with a ubiquitous 20 Mbps uplink, supporting the explosion in uplink services that will emerge in the Mobile AI era.
  • GigaBand: FDD spectrum is pooled, so that 4G and 5G can share an ultra-wide carrier. A unique method of intelligent scheduling is used to coordinate across the time, frequency, space, and power domains, allowing 5G to reuse 4G spectrum. This allows 1.2 times higher 5G experience without any 4G experience loss.
  • iBeam 3.0: By deeply integrating channel conditions and real-time scheduling, we have expanded high-precision management from control planes to user planes. Live network validation of this solution achieved a more than 15% gain in downlink speeds over iBeam 1.0 and iBeam 2.0.
  • IDEA: Flexible rate grading is performed to control rate multipliers for user and service groups, ensuring priority access for high-value users. Dynamic slicing is also used to accurately estimate resource use and reserve RBs for VIP users accordingly, ensuring stable target rates for them.
  • 0 Bit 0 Watt 0 Loss: Intelligent dormancy technology increases power saving durations while also ensuring user experience, in addition to enabling networks to wake up from dormancy in just seconds. Live-network validation has found that this technology reduces energy consumption by over 10%.
  • RANSpirit: The telecom foundation model and RAN Digital twin System are jointly used to enable intelligent intent-driven resource scheduling for users and services, allowing operators to move from manual O&M to single-domain autonomy. This will be key to ensuring all-scenario experience, intelligent network management, and superior energy efficiency.

At the launch, the Vice President of Huawei Wireless Network Solution He Yunru said that, “SingleRAN 22.1 holistically transforms network capabilities, taking mobile networks to a new Mobile AI era. This milestone upgrade will help operators establish a solid network foundation for trillions of interconnected agents, seize new opportunities on the token-driven economy, and embrace the world of Agentverse.”
