New hub delivers guided quick starts, a browser-based sandbox on a live cluster, and a native MCP server that connects Claude Code or any AI agent to live, transactional data in a single command
BEDFORD, Mass. — July 21, 2026 — Volt Active Data today announced the launch of its Developer Hub, a dedicated destination that helps developers discover, evaluate, and adopt Volt’s real-time data platform. Available at developers.voltactivedata.com, the Hub is designed to take a developer from a first query to a working application in under five minutes.
The Hub organizes everything a developer needs around three guided paths: Kafka decisioning, high-performance transactional SQL, and AI agents. It adds a browser-based sandbox that runs against a live cluster with no installation and no credit card, and brings quick starts, hands-on tutorials, documentation, and a public GitHub presence into a single experience built for the way developers actually evaluate technology: by running something first.
The AI agent path is the Hub’s most distinctive capability. Volt ships a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects Claude Code, or any MCP-capable agent, to a live Volt database in a single command. Through eight built-in tools, an agent can explore the schema, run SQL, and call stored procedures, reading and writing authoritative state with serializable ACID guarantees and under 10ms latency behind every tool call. Where retrieval-only approaches give an agent context that was true when it was last embedded, Volt gives it what is true right now, plus the ability to act on it. Volt also publishes free, MIT-licensed Agent Skills on GitHub that teach a coding agent to build Volt applications correctly. The result is agents that do not just answer, they approve the order, adjust the limit, and update the record, as traceable transactions.
At the core is the platform itself. Volt Active Data provides sub-millisecond ACID transactions and native Kafka integration, collapsing ingestion, storage, and logic into a single transactional layer. The result is predictable sub-10ms latency at more than one million transactions per second, while eliminating external caches and complex consumer-side state. In effect, it replaces a three-component stack with one, which is also what makes it a safe operational state layer for AI agents.
Executive Commentary
“Developers are the people who decide whether real-time infrastructure earns a place in production. The Developer Hub meets them where they work — with working code, honest benchmarks, and a live sandbox — so they can prove Volt against their own requirements in minutes, not weeks.”
– David Flower, President and CEO, Volt Active Data
“Our goal was a genuinely developer-first experience, not a marketing microsite. Every path is benchmark-led and free of fluff, and the whole hub is built to iterate quickly based on developer feedback.”
– Adrian Scholes, Chief Marketing Officer, Volt Active Data
Avaliability
The Volt Active Data Developer Hub is available now at developers.voltactivedata.com. A free trial and browser-based sandbox are available with no credit card required. Additional content and features will be released on a phased basis in the weeks following launch.
