Nokia and t3 Broadband today announced the deployment of a new ultra-high-capacity optical transport network for the broadband network operator, Aureon. This AI-optimized infrastructure connects a major data center development in North Dakota to the Chicago metro area. Powered by Nokia’s optical networking solutions and delivered through t3 Broadband’s infrastructure expertise, the deployment provides the advanced connectivity needed to support the rapid growth of AI, cloud and hyperscale data center workloads.
The new route is designed to support scaling up to 400 terabits per second (Tb/s) of transport capacity, making it Aureon’s highest-capacity network connection to date and creating a scalable foundation for future AI infrastructure growth. Powered by Nokia’s 1830 Global Express (GX) platform, Super C and L-band optical line system, and 1.2T ICE7 coherent optics, the deployment significantly expands Aureon’s network capabilities, enabling the company to deliver transport services at a scale traditionally associated with hyperscale operators.
This deployment gives us the capacity and flexibility to support large-scale data center interconnect requirements while establishing a blueprint for future expansion. Working with Nokia and t3 Broadband has enabled us to bring a new level of transport capability to our network in the AI era.
