DE-CIX Adds Google Cloud to Mexico Cloud Exchange Amid Rapid Growth and Rising Enterprise Demand

New integration brings Google Cloud alongside Microsoft Azure and AWS, strengthening multi-cloud connectivity across Querétaro and Mexico City as demand for secure, low-latency cloud access continues to surge

Mexico City, Mexico and Dallas, USA, 16 June 2026. As demand for high-performance, private cloud connectivity accelerates across Mexico, DE-CIX has expanded its Cloud Exchange to include direct access to Google Cloud via its DirectCLOUD service, further strengthening its role as a central interconnection platform for the region. With this expansion, enterprises and service providers can now tap into a fully integrated multi-cloud ecosystem spanning Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and AWS, all delivered via secure, low-latency connections into the rapidly growing cloud hub in Querétaro. The expansion reinforces DE-CIX’s position at the heart of Mexico’s digital infrastructure, bringing businesses closer to the cloud while enabling the performance, resilience, and scalability required for modern applications and AI-driven workloads.

Beyond locally available cloud platforms, DE-CIX also enables access to additional global providers such as IBM Cloud via its backbone connectivity to Dallas, extending the reach of its Mexican platform into a broader North American and international ecosystem. This combination of local proximity and global reach gives enterprises the flexibility to connect to the cloud services they need, wherever they are deployed, without compromising on performance or control.

After just over a year in operation, DE-CIX Mexico’s Cloud Exchange has seen strong growth. Together with DE-CIX Mexico’s application connectivity services – Google Verified Peering Provider (VPP), which enables resilient and secure access to Google applications and services such as Google Workspace, and the Microsoft Azure Peering Service (MAPS), a premium connection to applications in the Microsoft 365 and Dynamics clouds – Mexican enterprises are closer to the cloud than ever before. All of the operator’s Mexican cloud connectivity services, including the newly implemented DirectCLOUD service to the Google Cloud, are heavily used by customers, with demand for the Google VPP service having triggered a capacity upgrade within weeks of implementation.

“The availability of DE-CIX’s distributed data center and carrier neutral interconnection platform in Mexico is transforming the connectivity landscape of the country,” says Omar Vega, Country Sales Director for DE-CIX Mexico. “Mexican enterprises can use our Cloud Exchange for automated, scalable, and redundant private connectivity to all relevant cloud service providers, either directly through us or through our extensive national and global partner ecosystem. DE-CIX brings businesses closer to the cloud, supporting better performance of applications, digital services, content, and AI use cases.”

The distributed Internet and Cloud Exchange DE-CIX Mexico is accessible from multiple data centers in Mexico City and Querétaro, making it easy for networks located in the capital to access the burgeoning cloud hub in Querétaro. Through the connection to DE-CIX Dallas, Mexican networks also gain access to DE-CIX’s entire North American ecosystem, including DE-CIX New York, the third-largest IX in North America, as well as to Brazil, Europe, and beyond. The Mexican exchange continues to grow fast, having experienced more than 400% growth since the beginning of 2026, now achieving peak traffic levels of nearly 300 Gigabits per second (Gbit/s).
