Hands-on training initiative expected to serve hundreds of individuals annually across five counties
A new workforce training initiative unveiled today at the Johnson County Public Library is helping open doors for more Arkansans pursuing employment opportunities, thanks to a partnership between Brightspeed, the River Valley Adult Learning Alliance (RVALA) and local community leaders. The tool is a new driving simulator that will provide hands-on training for adult learners preparing to earn a driver’s license, pursue a CDL certification or obtain farm equipment operation certification.
Housed at the Johnson County Public Library, the simulator will serve residents across RVALA’s five-county region and is expected to support more than 300 individuals annually, helping more people gain the skills and confidence needed to pursue employment and advance their careers.

Community leaders, residents and local partners, including Brightspeed, gathered at the River Valley Arts Center today to celebrate the unveiling of a new public mural designed to reflect on the region’s history, inspire a new sense of inclusion and connection and contribute to ongoing revitalization efforts in the heart of the River Valley.
Painted on the original public city pool pump house, the mural transforms the historic structure into a more vibrant gathering place that reflects the spirit, creativity and resilience of the community.
