Opening of Cybersecurity Research and Operations Center: Enhancing Youth Understanding of Network Resilience and AI Applications
Hong Kong, 24 March 2026 — HGC Global Communications (“HGC” or “the Group”), a fully-fledged ICT service provider and network operator with extensive global coverage, has once again participated in the “2026 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD)” organized by the Communications Association of Hong Kong (CAHK). On last Saturday, March 21, 36 students and teachers from Lok Sin Tong Leung Kau Kui College and Christian & Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Secondary School visited the 24×7 Cybersecurity Research and Operations Center (CROC) located in Cyberport. The visit was designed to provide an immersive look into the technical applications and practical implementation of advanced cybersecurity solutions that safeguard today’s digital landscape.

In alignment with this year’s theme, “Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World”, HGC’s cybersecurity experts guided the students through the Group’s sophisticated digital infrastructure. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues its rapid evolution, the speed and stability of network connectivity have become the foundational pillars of innovation. HGC aimed to demonstrate that behind the curtain of cutting-edge AI technology lies a critical need for reliable and resilient infrastructure. By focusing on the core concept of “Network Resilience,” the session illustrated how network infrastructure can maintain stable operations and achieve swift recovery in the face of cyber threats or system failures, thereby inspiring students to recognize the vital importance of network stability in ensuring the continuity of daily digital services for society.
Beyond technical demonstrations, the event featured a comprehensive ICT career seminar and workshop, underscoring HGC’s commitment to nurturing local talent. The Group’s Human Resources team provided in-depth analyses of the industry ecosystem, emerging employment trends, and future career prospects to enrich the students’ understanding of the telecommunications sector. To offer practical support for their future endeavors, the team also conducted one-on-one consultation sessions, addressing specific questions regarding academic pathways, resume writing, and interview techniques, ensuring that the next generation is well-prepared for their professional journeys.
Daniel Ho, Vice President – Unified Cyber Security and Digital Transformation Solutions of HGC Global Communications, said, “HGC is delighted to once again support World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, providing a platform for students to gain a deeper understanding of AI technology applications. During the event, we showcased our digital infrastructure rooted in Hong Kong and extending globally, helping students grasp the critical role of network resilience in long-term digital strategy. Through this experience, students learnt not only about the role of telecommunications operators in the development of AI but also how emerging technologies support sustainable development. As an industry leader, HGC believes that technology should be people-centric, and we remain dedicated to connecting society through professional expertise while actively cultivating the innovators of tomorrow.”
The World Telecommunication and Information Society Day Hong Kong is organized by CAHK. The “ICT Open Day” is one of its key events and is aimed at raising awareness and interest in ICT among the youth and academic communities.
