Transforming agriculture in Chile’s Maipo River Basin to improve water efficiency

Together, the organizations will support measurable, community‑centered water stewardship initiatives in the Maipo River Basin, south of Santiago, Chile. The initiative plays a key role in EdgeConneX broader global commitment to

The Santiago program will help improve irrigation efficiency, enhance crop quality, and provide generational training in sustainable agricultural practices.
The partnership leverages, Irrigation Manager, one of Kilimo’s flagship solutions, to help farmers utilize real-time field data to optimize irrigation practices. By providing local agricultural farmers with clear recommendations on when and how much to irrigate, the platform helps optimize water use and improve irrigation efficiency. The AI-based modeling tool helps fruit and grape growers enhance crop resilience and boost yields while also improving basin strength. This project is also designed to deliver verified volumetric water benefits backed by scientific measurement, directly supporting EdgeConneX operations in the region.
