NDI Expands Ecosystem with Thinlabs, Powering Next-Generation PoE Digital Signage and Education Workflows

Thinlabs’ certified PoE devices introduce streamlined, NDI-enabled workflows for signage and real-time information delivery

LISBON, Portugal (January 6, 2026) – NDI, the global standard for plug-and-play IP video connectivity,

today announces a new partnership with Thinlabs, certifying a range of Thinlabs Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices and all-in-one displays as NDI-enabled systems. The certification serves as a key proof point of the NDI ecosystem’s maturity and reliability for PoE-based workflows across education, digital signage, and enterprise environments.

By combining NDI with PoE, organizations can simplify deployments by delivering power, video, and data over a single network cable. This approach reduces installation complexity, lowers infrastructure costs, and enables flexible placement of displays and endpoints without traditional electrical requirements, making it ideal for large-scale, always-on communication environments.

Thinlabs, an established leader in PoE computing solutions, has deployed more than 60,000 PoE-powered devices in the field. Specifically in digital signage, it has over 8,000 devices deployed across approximately 400 schools throughout the U.S. Midwest via its education partner network. These deployments support menu boards, class schedules, and real-time campus information, demonstrating the scalability and operational reliability required for widespread digital signage and information workflows.

As part of NDI certification, the following Thinlabs platforms are now validated as NDI devices:

  • TL1200P featuring AMD Ryzen Embedded R1305G processors
  • TL1215 featuring AMD Ryzen Embedded V2516 processors

Both devices deliver full functionality while being powered entirely over Ethernet, and each can also act as a power hub running Thinlabs PoE monitors to support flexible input/output configurations.

Thinlabs’ all-in-one PoE displays have also received NDI certification:

  • TL2705 (24″ non-touch) and TL2805 (24″ touch), based on the TL1200 series with R1305G processors
  • TL2701 (24″ non-touch) and TL2861 (24″ touch), based on the TL1215 series with V2516 processors

With built-in PoE, these full HD displays can be deployed virtually anywhere without traditional electrical infrastructure, streamlining installation and reducing operational costs for large facilities such as schools, enterprises, and public venues.

“PoE workflows are a practical example of how IP-based production continues to simplify real-world deployments,” said Miguel Coutinho, Head of NDI. “Thinlabs’ certification reinforces the strength of the NDI ecosystem and demonstrates how interoperable, network-native devices can scale reliably across demanding environments.”

“Thinlabs devices are built for simplicity, flexibility, and long-term value; qualities that align perfectly with NDI,” said JR Mundkur, CEO of Thinlabs. “With NDI certification, our customers can extend real-time video and information workflows across campuses and facilities without the cost or complexity of traditional AV setups.”

With Thinlabs joining the ecosystem, NDI continues to expand its impact across education, digital signage, and enterprise environments, reinforcing its position as the leading global standard for IP-based video connectivity.
