  • Following the funding, Roamless continues its mission to become the “world’s first all in one mobile operator”, and will soon launch local numbers, b2b integrations, and AI enabled products.

DELAWARE, Wednesday 17th December 2025

Roamless has today announced a $12 million Series A funding round, led by Rasmal Ventures. The funding round also includes strong participation from Shorooq, the leading Abu Dhabi-headquartered investment firm regulated by the FSRA as Fund Manager, Revo Capital, Finberg and JIMCO. This new capital brings Roamless’ total funding to-date to $18 million, following a $6 million seed round in 2024.

The Turkish-founded and US-headquartered company is building the world’s first truly global, all-in-one travel connectivity app and mobile operator. The company already serves over 1 million travelers across 200+ countries and territories and has grown nearly 5x year-over-year.

In a strategic departure from other eSIM providers, Roamless runs on its own telecom infrastructure, built by its in-house team, which includes senior telco professionals who set up the international core networks for Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, A1 Group, Telia Sonera and other Tier-1 mobile operators globally.

Roamless’ telecom stack is a cloud-based, carrier-grade infrastructure layer that manages connectivity across hundreds of networks as a single experience. This enables seamless coverage across borders today, and lays the foundation for new services beyond data-only products. Also, this affords the company greater control over the customer experience, rather than simply reselling third-party SIMs.

The eSIM market is growing at pace, expanding by 85% last year. This growth is driven by multiple factors, including the move by the majority of smartphone manufacturers to include the technology as standard. While fewer than 20% of global smartphone connections used eSIM in 2024, the GSMA projects penetration to reach as high as 88% by 2030. With new devices, such as the Apple iPhone Air, eliminating physical SIM trays entirely, the Roamless team anticipates eSIM adoption will ultimately reach 100%.

Emre Demirel, CEO and Cofounder, says “The eSIM market is set to explode, and we believe we’re in a great position to win, and become the world’s first global all-in-one travel connectivity app and mobile operator. The future winners in this industry will need to combine a terrific product with reliable rails and a carrier-grade technology stack. No other eSIM provider can offer this — we’re delighted with the level of service we currently deliver to an ever-growing global base of customers, and extremely proud of our bespoke infrastructure layer. However, this is just the beginning of the journey — we will become far more than just an international data and calls provider. We are rolling our local market, b2b and AI-enabled features in our next phase — all to ensure we continue to lead on innovation, and give global mobile users what they need to maximise their experience”

Soumaya Ben Beya Dridje, General Partner at Rasmal Ventures, says, “Roamless is led by a founding team with deep operator DNA in telecom and a clear ambition to become a global mobile operator. Their technology is engineered for realworld scale, and the precision of their execution is remarkable at this stage. Leading their Series A round reflects our conviction in their vision, their grit, and their ability to shape the industry.”

In its next phase, Roamless will expand network coverage, scale its global go-to-market and customer support efforts, and deepen supplier and corporate partnerships.

  • Roamless Numbers: Soon the company will launch Roamless Numbers, enabling users to obtain local numbers in more than 20 countries and make calls or send and receive SMS like a local from within the app. Offering local numbers evolves Roamless from a travel eSIM into a full global carrier.
  • B2B Expansion: Roamless is investing in APIs and B2B solutions that allow airlines, airports, OTAs, financial institutions, and superapps to embed connectivity into their customer journeys.
  • Smarter Experience: AI-powered features to optimize network quality, reduce costs, and surface the right partner offers at the right moment.

The company also plans to grow its team across regional offices in major travel hubs.

Mahmoud Adi, Founding Partner at Shorooq, says “Roamless is evolving from a travel eSIM app into what we see as your second, permanent SIM — a true global mobile operator in your pocket. We’re proud to back this experienced founding team as they build a world-class telco born from our region. Their ambition to redefine global connectivity aligns perfectly with our mission to support the next generation of technology leaders emerging from MENA.”

Cenk Bayrakdar, Founding Partner at Revo Capital, “As former C-level executives at leading mobile operators, we’ve been consistently impressed by the scale of Roamless’ vision and their ability to execute globally. As the first institutional investor to back the company, we’re proud to continue supporting this exceptional founding team on their journey to build a new kind of global telco.”
