SÃO PAULO, December 02, 2025 — TERRANOVA, a new hyperscale data center platform established by Actis, a leading growth market investor in sustainable infrastructure, and part of General Atlantic, a global investment leader today announced its official launch in Latin America. TERRANOVA’s mission is to power the region’s next phase of digital growth, building energy-efficient and customer-focused data centers that meet the rising demand for AI and cloud infrastructure across Brazil, Mexico, and Chile.
Building the Next Generation of Data Center Capacity
TERRANOVA plans to invest US$1.5 billion over the next three years, developing a portfolio of modern campuses in Brazil, Mexico, and Chile, with additional markets under evaluation. The first site, located in the Querétaro area of Mexico, is scheduled to come online in Q1 2026, followed by new campuses in Campinas, Brazil (2027) and Chile (2027–2028).
The company has already secured land and power in strategic locations across the region, representing the potential to deploy up to 1 gigawatt of data center capacity in the future. We believe this provides TERRANOVA with a strong foundation for long-term expansion, aligned with regional market demand and infrastructure readiness.
“Latin America is entering a new cycle of digital infrastructure growth, driven by cloud, AI, and enterprise demand,” said José Eduardo Quintella, CEO of TERRANOVA. “Our focus is on disciplined growth — building reliable, scalable data centers that earn our clients’ trust through delivery, efficiency, and performance.”
Backed by Global Expertise and Clean Energy Leadership
Actis, a sustainable infrastructure investor, brings to TERRANOVA its global experience building and operating data center platforms across Asia — including China, South Korea, and Malaysia. TERRANOVA will leverage cross-platform collaboration to share technical expertise, customer relationships, and best operational practices across continents.
“TERRANOVA builds on Actis’s proven global track record in both energy and digital infrastructure,” said Mauricio Giusti at Actis. “We see strong synergies between our existing data center operations in Asia and TERRANOVA’s growth in Latin America. This collaboration allows us to deliver scalable, energy-efficient, and sustainable solutions for global and regional clients.”
Leveraging Actis’s leadership in renewable energy, TERRANOVA will aim to integrate clean power and efficiency principles into every campus — ensuring low-carbon growth and sustainable scalability across the region.
Experienced Leadership and Strong Regional Foundations
TERRANOVA’s founding team brings over 150 years of combined experience in data center development and operations across Latin America. Led by José Eduardo Quintella, the team unites senior professionals in engineering, operations, and commercial development to build a high-quality hyperscale data center platform that combines global standards with regional execution strength.
“With secured power, strategic sites, and a robust investment plan, TERRANOVA is positioned to grow responsibly and at scale,” Quintella added. “We’re not just adding capacity — we’re shaping the next generation of hyperscale data centers in Latin America.”
