Renovations Have Doubled Power Capacity
Albany, NY – February 4, 2025 – FirstLight, a leading provider of digital infrastructure services to enterprise and carrier customers throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, announced that its Brunswick, Maine Data Center has completed a major expansion, adding more floor space, power capacity, redundant generators, and uninterrupted power supply units.
FirstLight’s Brunswick Data Center is a 2N facility, with two fully redundant electrical feeds to ensure maximum uptime. The renovation project, which began last summer, doubled the power capacity at the facility while continuing to match the same high level of redundancy. Power is sourced entirely from renewable energy.
The facility, located at Brunswick Landing, is a former NATO Command and Control Center and provides a number of high-security features including a gated perimeter fence and 24×7 monitoring. The data center also complies with various industry standards including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). It maintains SOC II, Type 2 certification, a detailed cybersecurity framework that protects customer data.
“The level of redundancy and robust power capacity at the data center draws customers who want the highest level of uptime,” said Mike Constantino, Chief Operating Officer. “Our advanced security features and low latency fiber network continue to attract some of the largest and most prominent customers in the eastern United States who use our Data Center as a primary site for their critical applications or as a Disaster Recovery location.”
Beyond data center space, the facility offers a unique blend of low-latency fiber optic connectivity on diverse network pathways, easy access to cloud-based services like data backup, disaster recovery and cloud computing, as well as a host of other solutions that help customers protect data, manage their network and monitor their critical systems.
“The most important thing we can do for our customers is to provide a firm foundation for their technology strategy and their continued success,” said Jason Campbell, CEO. “The renovations at the Brunswick Data Center further enhance our ability to provide the highest standards of uptime and reliability. Our customers entrust us to safeguard their data, and we take that mission very seriously.”
