Hong Kong / London, 23 January 2025 – HGC Global Communications Limited (HGC), a fully-fledged ICT service provider and network operator with extensive global coverage, is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with global mobile industry association, the GSMA, to become an Open Gateway Channel Partner. This strategic partnership further deepens the relationship with the GSMA and will enable HGC to expand collaborations with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) globally in commercializing data, encouraging growth, and accelerating the availability and adoption of data services.
HGC looks forward to taking an active role within the GSMA Open Gateway initiative to further drive a paradigm shift in the global telecoms industry, revolutionizing access to global MNO data for consumption through Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs). The integration of these APIs will greatly improve data availability and facilitate secure authentication and verification. This increased availability will further strengthen HGC’s Mobile Intelligence (MI) platform, which delivers precise and timely data to enterprises worldwide, increasing security and customer experience, while fighting fraud.
Over 280 global networks, representing three-quarters of the world’s mobile connections, are participating in the GSMA Open Gateway initiative and HGC aims to facilitate access to more MNO data and enable the transition of today’s Telcos to tomorrow’s Techcos. Access to more data will expand HGC’s current portfolio of Mobile Number Portability, Number Verify, KYC Match, and SIM Swap products. This expansion will increase HGC’s capabilities to combat various forms of fraud and better support customers.
“I am delighted to say that HGC is now an Open Gateway Channel Partner,” said Irfan Abubaid, Vice President of Global Messaging & Digital Services, International Business of HGC. “This partnership shows our commitment to providing market leading solutions to our customers, as we leverage MI data to provide better authentication, onboarding, and anti-fraud solutions. We look forward to working with Mobile Network Operators and enterprises around the world to take advantage of new commercial opportunities.”
Alex Sinclair, Chief Technology Officer of GSMA, said: “We’re looking forward to deepening our relationship with HGC and welcome them to the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, so together we can help the developer and telecoms communities monetise new digital services through open APIs. It’s vital that consumers and businesses have trust in digital commerce and the anti-fraud and customer authentication services that HGC provide can help strengthen this.”
