Amsterdam, London – October 14, 2024 – RETN, a global network services provider, announces that it is the first AMS-IX reseller to offer connectivity over a 400G port.
The new 400G port allows RETN to streamline the connection process for customers requiring larger bandwidth on the AMS-IX peering platform. This reduces the need for multiple dedicated ports for 100G customers and provides increased flexibility, scalability, and energy efficiency. By utilizing the 400G port, RETN can improve resource management while delivering more agile network solutions for its customers.

This development follows RETN’s recent Pan-European upgrade, which introduced 400G wavelengths across its 135,000 km fiber network.
RETN was recognized as the Best AMS-IX Reseller for 2023 and continues to expand its REMOTE-IX service, including the ‘One Port’ solution, which allows customers to connect to multiple IXs through a single physical port.
William Manzione, Product Manager at RETN, stated: “With the adoption of 400G wavelengths, the connectivity market is changing. As the first AMS-IX reseller to provide 400G connectivity, we aim to offer competitive services with greater capacity and service delivery efficiency. In response to recent subsea outages, we are also expanding our 100G capacity across a wider range of subsea routes to enhance resilience and reduce delays in deploying new technology.”
