Net revenue reached R$ 75.9 million in the period, driven mainly by equipment sales to internet service providers.
Padtec Holding (B3: PDTC3) – the sole shareholder of Padtec S/A, the largest manufacturer of optical transport systems in Latin America – closed the third quarter of 2024 with net revenue of R$ 75.9 million, marking a 10.8% increase compared to R$ 68.5 million in the previous quarter. The gross margin for the third quarter was 32.1%, cash generation (EBITDA) totaled R$ 6.8 million (EBITDA margin of 9.0%), and gross profit was R$ 24.3 million (up 12.7% compared to the second quarter).
“Padtec’s results continue to progress, even though the global demand for high-capacity transmission equipment is still lagging behind levels from recent years,” notes Carlos Raimar, CEO and Investor Relations Director. “Our current capital structure and continuous focus on operational efficiency, with strict cost and expense controls, enables Padtec to manage its operations securely and sustainably, allowing for growth and revenue diversification,” he adds.
Raimar highlights a significant outcome in the third quarter: net revenues generated in Brazil by the Equipment business unit grew 22.7% compared to the previous quarter primarily due to a more than 70% increase in revenues from sales to internet service providers (ISPs) during this period. “This is an important market segment, which is investing increasingly in DWDM systems to meet its customers’ growing demands for more capacity and new internet services,” states Raimar.
In August, Padtec entered the state of Roraima through ISP InfoRR, which is expanding operations into Amazonas with the construction of a new DWDM optical network segment connecting the capitals Boa Vista (RR) and Manaus (AM). This new network spans nearly 800 kilometers and, in addition to Boa Vista and Manaus, covers six other cities across the states of Roraima and Amazonas. The project, implemented in partnership with 4WNet Telecomunicações, includes the deployment of a complete DWDM system by Padtec, featuring monitoring capabilities for the physical state of the optical fiber and automatic reconfiguration of the network for capacity expansion.

Another highlight of the third quarter was the start of deliveries to customers of the new transponder for the LightPad Max platform, launched by Padtec in May this year. Developed to meet the market’s demand for ever-increasing transmission capacity, the new transponder underwent field testing in real environments, including on the Brisanet network, which publicly praised its excellent performance, achieving a transmission rate of 800 Gb/s per optical channel over a distance of approximately 350 kilometers. With the new dual disaggregated transponder (or standalone), Brisanet intends to expand the traffic capacity of its optical backbone, which currently covers more than 150 cities across several states in the Northeast.
With a commitment to staying close to its customers, between January and September 2024, Padtec participated in 12 trade fairs and conferences across Latin America (Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia), Mexico, and the United States. It also held four Padtec Talks aimed at clients in these regions. In Brazil, Padtec sponsored 15 events and held in-person and virtual meetings under the Pad Technology Day and Padtec Talks brands.
