Proprietary Air-cooling System Optimizes High-density Cooling Capacity as well as Energy and Space Efficiency
SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – October 3, 2024 – ODATA, an Aligned Data Centers company and provider of data center services for Latin America, announces the integration of a proprietary, patent-pending and award-winning air cooling technology, Delta Cube (Delta3), across its data centers in Latin America. Delta3, a groundbreaking technology developed and patented by Aligned Data Centers, ODATA’s parent company, is being manufactured for its data centers locally in Brazil. This will reduce equipment acquisition costs, accelerate time-to-market, and drive investment and innovation in the country.
Unlike conventional data center cooling methods that simply push cold air into the data hall, Delta3 effectively captures and removes heat directly at its source. This creates a hyper-scalable and extremely efficient environment that dynamically adapts to the IT load demands of customers.
Seasoned by a decade of development and improvement, Delta3 represents a significant advancement and evolution of the solutions offered by ODATA, standing out for its efficiency, sustainability, scalability, and flexibility. Aligned’s cooling technology and other innovations have won numerous awards and originated more than 50 issued patents representing over 500 patent claims. Designed to cool high and mixed power densities of up to 50kW per rack in the same row, Delta3 allows ODATA customers to maximize space usage, while saving energy.
Additionally, Delta3 can be easily integrated with liquid cooling systems, positioning ODATA to quickly meet the new high-density demands of next-generation applications such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL).
Delta3 is already in production by Munters at its facility located in Araucária, Paraná. Munters is a global company specialized in energy-efficient air and liquid data center cooling and industrial humidification control solutions. By manufacturing the system domestically, ODATA is strengthening Brazil’s production capabilities, boosting the local economy, and generating employment opportunities in the region.
“We are thrilled to introduce this cutting-edge technology to our Latin American data centers, driving the growth of the Brazilian industry and fulfilling our commitment to building a robust digital infrastructure in the region.,” says Ricardo Alário, CEO of ODATA. “The adoption of Delta3 exemplifies our ongoing commitment to technical excellence, environmental sustainability, and ongoing innovation to meet the evolving requirements of our customers.”
ODATA at the Forefront of Sustainability
As a pioneer in Latin America to adopt innovative solutions like Delta3, ODATA continues to set the standard for innovation, sustainability, and technological excellence in the region.
“Delta3, is a cooling systems specifically designed for mission-critical areas. This means that the strengths and features of the equipment are integrated to ensure optimization of energy consumption and reduction of carbon emissions at the same time,” adds Alário.
In addition to working with equipment and designs that minimize energy consumption, ODATA is the first hyper-scalable data center company in Brazil to become an independent producer of renewable energy, ensuring that 100% of its consumption comes from sustainable sources.
