CHR Solutions’ Steve Eldridge Retires After 50 Years of Distinguished Service

Houston, TX, July 1, 2024 — CHR Solutions, an experienced leader in providing services and solutions to help communication service providers (CSPs) achieve operational efficiency and revenue growth, announced today the retirement of Steve Eldridge, Senior Project Manager of Engineering Services, after a remarkable fifty-year tenure with the company.

Eldridge’s career highlights include Rural Utilities Service (RUS) loan designs for local co-ops and numerous Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) designs following the AT&T breakup. One of his final projects included a loan design for Brazos Communications headquartered in Olney, TX. This project began in 2013 and the implementation and expansion continue today.

Eldridge’s career began at CHR Solutions during high school, gaining experience in surveying and drafting. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 1980 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he continued with CHR and moved into project management and loan design roles for several builds, such as Big Bend Telephone in Alpine, TX, and the Papago Tribal Utility Authority (now called Tohono O’odham Utility Authority) in Sells, AZ.

Eldridge also spent seven years in Guam managing system improvements for the Guam Telephone Authority and Micronesian Telephone in Saipan, Mariana Islands. This project initially started with running fiber to the Central Offices, and then expanded to eventually building out more of the network to Andersen Air Force Base and several Navy base housing areas. Additionally, while there, Eldridge played an integral role in helping to establish Guam’s first cellular system.

“Looking back on my career in telecom, I’ve witnessed a remarkable evolution— it’s astounding to realize that when I started, ‘broadband’ wasn’t even part of our vocabulary. Initially, we had to justify choosing fiber over digital microwave technology; now, it’s unimaginable to consider anything but fiber,” said Eldridge.  “However, this industry is more than technology; it’s about connecting people and empowering communities. It’s been a privilege to contribute to such transformative progress.”

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Steve for his unwavering service and dedication,” said Arun Pasrija, President and CEO of CHR Solutions. “He will be deeply missed by our team, clients and everyone who had the privilege of working with him. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”

All of us at CHR Solutions are thankful for the years of dedication and service Steve has given to CHR and to the industry.
