Galtronics Bolsters Airport Connectivity, Increases Coverage for Millions of Passengers

Tempe, Arizona, June 25, 2024 – Galtronics, the market leader in innovative wireless antennas and connectivity solutions, today announced it completed a connectivity upgrade to Salt Lake City International Airport with its leading high-capacity panel antennas. Galtronics also announced its DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) products were selected by a UK integrator as part of a connectivity upgrade at London Heathrow Airport.

With more than 300 daily flights, Salt Lake City International Airport serves more than 26 million travelers a year. The upgrade was a part of the airport’s $5.1 billion redevelopment program, and Galtronics’ antennas were selected over other vendors through a competitive process.

Heathrow, the busiest airport in Europe, is one of the top five busiest airports in the world. With 81 million passengers expected in 2024, Galtronics’ DAS antennas will help improve coverage and capacity inside the airport. This installation marks the first airport outside of North America awarded to Galtronics.

Galtronics has significant connectivity upgrade experience inside global airports with prior installations at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, La Guardia Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

At both new airports, Galtronics was chosen based on its ability to meet extensive capacity and throughput needs. The antennas offer high capacity with optimized coverage capabilities for dense traffic indoor environments. Galtronics’ antenna architecture provides flexibility, reduces jumper cables count to cover wireless spectrum, and makes deployment easier while reducing costs.

“Meeting the massive capacity and throughput requirements of an airport is challenging,” said Leighton Carroll, Galtronics President and CEO. “Seeing Galtronics selected to improve the wireless capabilities at two marquee global airports speaks to the quality of our products and their proven ability to deliver.”

The combination of technical capability and total value proposition allows Galtronics to continue to win major opportunities.
