Macquarie Technology Group recognised in top 60 companies worldwide for workplace culture

28 March 2024

Macquarie Technology Group (ASX: MAQ) today announced it has received the 2024 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA), recognising the company for having one of the most engaged workplace cultures in the world.

The Awards are run by workplace consulting and global research company, Gallup, and recognise organisations that incorporate employee engagement into their business strategy.

GEWA winners are decided based on Gallup’s analysis of team engagement and performance. The 2024 Awards was the most comprehensive study of its kind, spanning more than two million employees in 276 organisations across 54 industries and 96 countries. On average, GEWA winners’ ratio of engaged versus actively disengaged employees are 11 times higher than the global average.

Macquarie was recognised for its strengths-focused development and career pathways, one of the lowest gender pay gaps in the industry, approach to AI skills development, wellbeing and assistance programs, awarding employees who embody the company’s purpose, and more.

“Employee engagement is vital for business success,” said David Tudehope, CEO, Macquarie Technology Group. “I’m truly proud that Macquarie has been recognised among thousands of companies across the world that work with Gallup, and of how our team gets behind our purpose every day.”

The company’s culture was recently recognised by New York Times bestselling author, Joseph Michelli, who has written customer experience books about Airbnb, The Ritz Carlton, Mercedes-Benz, Starbucks, and other world leaders. Macquarie Technology Group was the subject of his latest book, Customer Magic The Macquarie Way, which recently launched in the U.S. and worldwide.

“Congratulations to the 59 organisations that have redefined what it means to be a great place to work,” said Jon Clifton, Chief Executive Officer, Gallup. “Your commitment to creating environments where employees are listened to, valued, and positioned to use their strengths every day is what sets you apart. Thank you for setting a new global standard in what it means to be a thriving workplace.”

The Award follows a string of Australian and global awards recognising Macquarie Technology Group and its founders. These include Best Customer Experience (CX) of the Year and CEO of the Year at the World Communication Awards; the Pearcey Medal for contribution to Australia’s ICT industry; the Australian Financial Review Best Places to Work List; and a Great Place to Work Australia certification.
