GlobalNet unveils latest PoP in Berlin

GlobalNet, the Dutch Internet Service Provider, confirms its continued expansion into Western Europe with one new point of presence (PoP) in Berlin.

GlobalNet launched the new POP in the capital of Germany, which is based at the Speedbone site (Alboinstr. 36-42, Berlin, Germany).

Leveraging this new connectivity, GlobalNet’s network members gain direct access to regional digital infrastructure and ecosystems within a global Internet Exchange Network spread over 67 points across Eurasia.

Nina Saidi, GlobalNet’s Global Director of Sales, is excited about their network development prospects; “As the launch of the new location in Berlin continues our expansion strategy in Central and Eastern Europe. We will continue to rapidly build new routes and deploy connections in new locations. Expect more news on the development of these destinations in the near future!”

In addition, the new POP in Berlin enables GlobalNet to deliver high-speed Internet access and connectivity across Europe with full channel redundancy for their members. The new PoP also delivers access to local and international backbone infrastructure, giving more choice over where to house a service while also increasing the resilience of key services. GlobalNet’s members can also benefit from the full range of services, including Internet eXchange, IP-Transit, Remote-IX, and DDoS protection.

GlobalNet is the first backbone ISP with its own international peer-to-peer distributed Internet Exchange Network DATAIX that is based on 10 000+ KM DWDM network. There are more than 410 Internet Service Providers, 140 content generators and total 560+ ASNs connected to DATAIX. It involves 67 PoPs across Europe including the largest data centers of the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Hungary and Singapore.
