GlobalNet, a Dutch backbone network operator, has announced the launch of a new network segment in Singapore. The telecommunication company has developed a powerful infrastructure using modern network equipment: advanced communicators and their own DWDM system running on Ciena 6500 and Waveserver 5. The connection points are located in 5 major city internet hubs:
- Equinix SG1 (20 Ayer Rajah Crescent)
- Epsilon A&D (151 Lorong Chuan, #06-02 New Tech Park)
- LWS Sin-9 (31 Kaki Bukit Rd 3, Techlink,#03-02)
- GlobalSwitch (2 Tai Seng Avenue)
Maxim Pozdnyakov, CSO of GlobalNet, calls the launch of the new DATAIX segment in Singapore an important milestone in the continued growth of GlobalNet: «Our reach, connectivity and availability of services have become truly global. This strategic expansion strengthens our position as a significant telecom operator throughout Eurasia. With the launch of the Singapore segment, our company has opened up the opportunities of the growing telecom market in Southeast Asia».
In its new Singapore segment, GlobalNet is offering the following services:
- Capacity (DWDM L2VPN VLAN). Connection within the city network with maximum throughput capacity of 800G per wavelength.
- DATAIX. Access to an international distributed peer-to-peer network with a free DDoS protection option for all participants.
“In the short time, we have already made several important connections, including one of the largest international hosting providers. The launch can be considered successful, since we could reach preliminary agreements on the first connections with our partners. Now we are also seeing a noticeable demand for the deployment of the network on the island among our existing customers. These two factors led to the rapid consolidation of the Singapore segment of the network load at around 50 Gbit/s. I think this highlights the significant need for our reliable services in Singapore.” – says Maxim Pozdnyakov
