Comcast Business Expands Data Center Footprint in Texas

New Comcast Business partnerships will give Texas businesses access to more data center options in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin

DALLAS, TEXAS – March 9, 2022 – Comcast Business is expanding its data center footprint in Texas to meet the growing demand for cloud services and business solutions. New Comcast data center partnerships in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin will offer Texas business owners access to more choices for cloud storage and business solutions. With the addition of the four new data center locations, Comcast Business’ portfolio includes a presence at more than 500 data center locations across the United States.

“Whether supporting individual moments in time such as hurricane season, or longer-term initiatives like transitioning to cloud-based services, it has become increasingly critical for businesses to invest in solutions that enhance connectivity and flexibility, as well as ensure the safety of data,” said Vince Margiotta, Vice President of Business Services for Comcast’s Texas Region. “We are proud to expand our partnerships with data centers across the state of Texas, as our combined offerings have the potential to make a huge impact on the way businesses work and define success across the region.”

Companies in greater Texas can now benefit from a suite of network solutions offered by Comcast Business, including Ethernet connectivity offerings, direct cloud on-ramp services, DDoS mitigation, and software-defined networking solutions like SD-WAN with Unified Threat Management (UTM).

With more Fortune 500 companies in Texas than any other state, Texas saw a nearly 4% increase of its Gross Domestic Product in 2021 and was named the best state for business for the 18th consecutive year in 2022. Comcast Business’ data center partnership expansions are timely and necessary, as Texas continues to experience an unprecedented influx of organizations migrating their operations to the state.

Additionally, access to these solutions via a data center connection is particularly critical as annual inclement weather events, like ice storms and hurricane season – which spans June to November in the region – pose a tangible threat to business operations. As businesses look to shore up their disaster preparedness plans, data center connectivity can help ensure that their data is safe and accessible in the cloud, regardless of any physical damages that might occur during a storm.
