Anritsu and SENKO to Jointly Demonstrate CPO Technology at OFC 2023

Allen, TX – February 28, 2023 – Anritsu Corporation will conduct a joint demonstration with SENKO Advanced Components, Inc. to highlight Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) technology supporting 400 GbE, 800 Gbe and beyond at OFC 2023. The demonstration, which will be conducted in the SENKO OFC booth (#3939), will feature the SENKO SN®-MT connector and the Anritsu BERTWave™ MP2110A and Network Master™ Pro MT1040A. The demonstration will verify the performance of the SN-MT connector through critical measurement parameters, including EYE Pattern testing and bit error rate (BER) of Dual 400G DR4.

CPO networks are being developed to meet the ever-demanding bandwidth and latency requirements of modern high-speed data centers and cloud infrastructures. The demonstration will highlight how SENKO and Anritsu are designing solutions to meet the market evolution. It will feature 100 Gbps per lane PAM4 signals for dual 400 GbE interfaces utilizing the SENKO SN-MT connector, as well as the Anritsu solutions.

The BERTWave MP2110A was chosen for the demonstration because it is a quad 100 Gbps-PAM4 sampling scope with a built-in clock recovery function that allows for the necessary high-speed testing. Another factor is that the MP2110A can include TDECQ as a parameter of measurements. An all-in-one solution, BERTWave is ideal for BER measurements and NRZ/PAM4 EYE Pattern analyses of 25 GbE / 100 GbE / 200 GbE / 400 GbE / 800 GbE optical modules and devices.

A dual 400 GbE Ethernet BER tester, the MT1040A was selected for its ability to simply conduct Forward Error Correction (FEC) BER measurements. It is a portable B5-size solution that supports 10 Mbps to 400 Gbps with direct QSFP-DD or OSFP modules.

The SENKO SN-MT connector carries a maximum of 16 fibers in a single row ferrule contained within a regular SN connector footprint. The panel design with SN-MT 16F improves connector density by 2.7x over MPO-16F and 1.3x over MPO-32F. It’s suitable for many applications that require high-density solutions. The SN-MT 16F can accommodate up to a 3456F connection in a 1RU patch panel, where such a high-density solution is perfect for a 1RU height Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) 51.2T switch. By using 64x SN-MT 16F (1024F) on the top of the face plate, sufficient space could still be allocated for External Laser Source (ELS).
