Xchange Telecom (“Xchange”) and Skywire Networks (“Skywire”), which deliver high-speed internet, voice, and unified communication services to residential and commercial customers across the New York City area, announced today the appointment of Doug Turtz as Chief Executive Officer. Turtz, whose appointment is effective immediately, joins Xchange and Skywire on the heels of the company’s acquisition by NOVA Infrastructure in November of 2022.

“Doug’s decades of experience driving growth at communications infrastructure providers make him the right leader for Xchange and Skywire as the company looks to grow and expand its presence in New York,” commented Chris Beall, Founder and Managing Partner of NOVA Infrastructure. “Doug’s sales and strategy background will be instrumental in helping him lead the company to new heights and we’re looking forward to working with him.”

Turtz has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications where he was most recently the Senior Vice President of Sales Strategy and Development at Lightpath. Previously, Turtz served in leadership roles at communications infrastructure providers including as VP of Fiber Sales for Crown Castle, SVP of Enterprise Sales at Lightower Fiber Networks, and National VP of Fiber Sales at AboveNet.

“I’m pleased to begin the next chapter in my career at Xchange and Skywire, especially given its tremendous infrastructure allowing the company to provide industry leading communications services to both residential and business customers. The ability to leverage its extensive fixed wireless network, in addition to traditional delivery mechanisms, allows Xchange and Skywire to reach many underserved areas and accelerate customer activation timelines,” said Turtz. “I’m equally as excited to partner with NOVA Infrastructure as we invest in our people and customers on our next phase of growth.”

Xchange was founded in 2002 to address New York City’s ongoing problem of a lack of quality high-speed internet and voice services in many of its residential and commercial buildings in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx, which the company refers to as “digital deserts.” Today, Xchange and its commercial business, Skywire, provide connectivity to more than 2,000 lit buildings, across 50 neighborhoods.
