Help your loved ones live safely and independently with Get Help features – now with Professional Monitoring – available exclusively for Apple Watch in the Care Smart app
BASKING RIDGE, NJ – Caring for a loved one doesn’t have to be stressful and expensive. You deserve better, and to help, Verizon is making caregiving easier with two Care Smart services that make it easy to get the help you or your loved one needs in case of a fall.
With the Get Help – Professional Monitoring, a new service available through Verizon’s Care Smart app1, a 24/7 Get Help call center is notified with your Apple Watch’s location when the watch reports a fall. A Get Help agent calls the watch upon receiving the alert and stays on the line until the watch wearer feels safe. If needed, they can conference in a Trust Circle contact or 911. Also, the watch wearer can contact the Get Help call center1 whenever they need assistance by tapping the Get Help button on the Apple Watch.
Verizon also offers Get Help – Caregiver Alert, which automatically connects the watch wearer to their Trust Circle contacts, in the event of an incident, and shares the watch’s location via a notification in the Care Smart phone app. One of the Trust Circle contacts can start a group text chat2 so all in the group can update each other and provide assistance.
Both The Get Help – Professional Monitoring and Caregiver Alert services are available exclusively for select Apple Watch models and the Care Smart companion app is available on both iOS and Android smartphones.
Get Help features also include:
Apple Watch compatibility. The Care Smart app works seamlessly on Apple Watch Series 4, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Series 8 and Apple Watch SE.
Unlimited Trust Circle contacts. With Care Smart for Apple Watch, there is no limit on the number of contacts that may be included in Apple Watch wearer’s Trust Circle to keep everyone connected and informed through the Care Smart app.
Keep up on where they are. With their permission, use the Care Smart app to view your loved one’s most recent reported location.
Medical information. The Care Smart account holder or the watch wearer can add medical information in the Care Smart app which syncs the information to the Apple Watch. The information may include medical insurance card, medications, medical conditions, allergies, blood type, date of birth, height and weight.
Get Help at the touch of a button. No matter which service you use, Verizon makes it easy to connect you to help. With Get Help – Caregiver Alert, the watch wearer taps the Get Help button to place an emergency call to their designated personal primary emergency contact or another contact in their Trust Circle. When the call is made, a notification is sent to all of the Trust Circle contacts with the watch’s location as well as prompts to start a group chat or close the incident.
With Get Help – Professional Monitoring, the watch wearer taps the Get Help button to place an emergency call to the Get Help call center. The watch’s location information is sent automatically to the call center.
Apple Watch Series 8 also offers indispensable tools for health and wellness, including temperature sensing, an electrical heart sensor and ECG app3, and a Blood Oxygen sensor and app4. watchOS 9 helps users stay healthy, active and connected with new features and enhanced experiences including AFib History, updated Workout app, sleep tracking for even more insights with sleep stages, a new Medications experience to manage and track medications, and more.
