Experienced Technology Board Member Mike Cote Appointed as Chairperson of Nitel’s Board

Channel and Executive Leadership Experience to Drive Nitel Growth Initiatives Coming Out of Cinven Investment

CHICAGO – November 16, 2022 — Nitel, a leading network as a service (NaaS) provider, announced today that Mike Cote, former SecureWorks CEO and board member, has been appointed chairperson of the Nitel board of directors. He brings to Nitel robust leadership experience in public and private equity backed companies within the information technology services industry.

“We are very pleased to have Mike as our new chairperson,” said Margi Shaw, CEO and member of the Nitel board of directors. “He brings to us the kind of strategic thinking we need for international growth, product expansion and both organic and inorganic growth opportunities as we strive to meet the objectives we outlined when Cinven invested in the company late last year. We look forward to benefitting from Mike’s guidance as we carry out Nitel’s growth and expansion agenda here and abroad.”

In December 2021, international private equity firm Cinven made a significant investment in Nitel. Cinven stated at that time that they see significant opportunity for Nitel to capture high growth

opportunities in the SD-WAN category, expand into adjacent services and international markets, and grow organically and inorganically, as part of delivering on the vision for Nitel.

“I am very excited to be able to lead Nitel’s board of directors in the next phase of the company’s evolution,” Cote said. “Nitel is doing some innovative things in networking, especially with NaaS, and I look forward to offering my experience in security and cloud-based applications to help it drive its growth in the future. These are extremely exciting times in our industry here and abroad.”

In addition to his former board role at SecureWorks, Cote is presently on the board of Palmetto Technology Group. He has been on several other boards of directors including those of FSLogix, BetterCloud and Equitrac. He holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting and computer science from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management.
