RETN strengthens the Backbone Network in the Nordic & Baltic regions

RETN strengthens its Backbone Network in the Nordic & Baltic regions with a new Long-Haul Route Riga – Gotland – Stockholm. The project was started in 2021 and has now been successfully implemented, tested, and running to benefit RETN customers in the region.

1.09.2022, London. International network service provider RETN has announced the opening of a new DWDM route in the Nordic & Baltic regions. Riga – Gotland – Stockholm route is a unique solution on the market: being around 30 kilometres shorter than any comparable routes, it guarantees a leading SLA and an RTT of only 6.07 ms for Riga – Stockholm.

“This DWDM line gives us greater technical flexibility and allows us to avoid additional regeneration in Latvia for services from Sweden and provides the possibility to provide spectrum as a service for customers.” – commented Maxim Lukoshius, Regional Director of RETN Nordic & Baltic. As the new Long-Haul route goes via Ventspils city (6th largest city in Latvia) it allows RETN to strengthen connectivity in Latvia and plays an essential role in regional development.

“RETN’s long-standing commitment to bring the best data communication services into the Nordic & Baltic Region has taken a massive step forward with this latest development”- mentioned Tony O’Sullivan, RETN CEO. “We consider it a key strategic route for the development of the RETN network and the next step in many in to support enterprises in the Nordic and Baltic region.”- added the CEO.

Previously the company reported on RETN Baltic being promoted to Gold solution provider partner of DELL Technologies and announced the opening of the new DWDM route Rezekne – Daugavpils – Vilnius.
