Fort Lauderdale, Florida, June 22, 2022
South Florida-based telecommunications company Hotwire Communications has been recognized as the Fastest ISP in the Southeast United States through PCMag’s annual independent study.
The mainly US-based publication evaluates and ranks internet service providers (ISPs) by collecting and analyzing data from hundreds of thousands of user tests, including download and upload speeds (recorded in Kilobits per second, or Kbps, then converted to Mbps), using their PCMag Speed Test. In addition to gaging download and upload speeds, the software records the name of the ISP, the location, and also measures for latency in the connection.
With an increase in speed over last year – coming in at 337.4 from 248.2 in 2021 – Hotwire reclaimed the Number One spot in the Southeastern US, outranking Google Fiber and EPB, the gigabit service provider in Chattanooga, TN. What’s more, Hotwire’s speed contributed to Florida being included in the Top 3 US States with the Fastest Internet, behind California and Rhode Island.
“It’s an incredible accomplishment and honor to be ranked among the Top 5 ISPs each year,” said Hotwire Communications CEO and Co-Founder Kristin Johnson. “We’re so proud to deliver a robust user experience for our customers, and strive to continue to provide a secure, consistent connection with our 100% fiber-optics network. This ranking is a testament to the future-proof technology our team has built.”
Hotwire is recognized as an industry leader in the markets they serve and expect to see similar success as they expand, bringing their all-fiber optics network to businesses and communities across the country.
