Europe to Brazil in 60 milliseconds on the global distributed platform NetIX by Neterra

NetIX can now offer connectivity via EllaLink – the fastest route ever between these two continents!

Sofia, Bulgaria – 27th June 2022: Neterra engineers have secured the fastest connection between Brazil and Europe, using NetIX, the leading global distributed platform for award-winning connectivity and peering solutions. The company announced today it has taken capacity on EllaLink, the high-capacity and low latency fibre-optic submarine cable directly connecting Latin America and Europe, to bring it on-net as part of NetIX’s global infrastructure assets.

This investment yet again highlights NetIX’s dedication to providing the very best services to its members and customers. Brazilian networks will be able to connect across EllaLink capacity from NetIX’s enabled locations in Sao Paulo, Fortaleza, and Rio de Janeiro, and access Europe – specifically the landing stations in Madrid and Marseille – at almost the speed of light.

Neven Dilkov, Founder and CEO at NetIX and Neterra said, “We are thrilled to be one of the first networks in the world to utilize capacity on EllaLink; this 60ms connection across the Atlantic will be a game changer and we look forward to helping businesses achieve more whilst reducing latency times on their network.”

Fabricio Costa, Regional Director for South America at NetIX commented, “There has been so much excitement across South America for EllaLink going live; combining EllaLink’s low latency path with NetIX’s services like the Global Internet Exchange (GIX) which brings 30+ IXPs’ worth of traffic with Tier 1s and other members will make NetIX a very attractive solution provider in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile.”

EllaLink was created to improve connectivity and reduce round-trip time latency between Europe and Brazil by 50 per cent. This 5,800-mile (9,334km) subsea cable system has removed the previously-required detour through North America and instead delivers connects these two continents directly.

EllaLink connects the major hubs of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza with Lisbon, Madrid and Marseille, and has the capacity to transmit up to 100 Tbps which is already supporting all types of Internet traffic from wholesale connectivity to enterprises, academic and science communities, the healthcare sector, and many more areas of business.

Are you ready to connect your network between Europe and Brazil faster than ever before? Unleash the power of EllaLink via NetIX’s platform; access EllaLink through one cross connect and port from any one of NetIX’s 150+ on-net global locations including data centres in Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Madrid and Marseille.
