Allen Salmasi to Deliver Keynote Address at the Rural Wireless Infrastructure Summit

Monday, June 27, 2022

NEW YORK, NY; PARK CITY, UT — June 27, 2022 — Veea, an established leader in the emerging Edge Compute ecosystem, announced today its Founder, Chairman and CEO will be delivering a Keynote Address at the Rural Wireless Infrastructure Summit being held this week in Park City, Utah.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act earmarks $42.4B for a state broadband infrastructure grant program for fiber and wireless deployment. Network operators are working to ensure that they build smart and secure communications networks in both their brownfield and greenfield deployments.

To provide timely analysis and critical information needed to take advantage of these opportunities, RINA Wireless and the Rural Wireless Association have joined forces to host the gathering, which will
bring together mobile and fixed rural wireless network operators from across the country, infrastructure providers, and the vendors that do business with them.

Salmasi will speak on the topic of “Deploying 5G and Private Networks to Revolutionize Opportunities for Rural Markets.”

Digital transformation through IoT technologies and edge solutions is helping to accelerate innovative solutions that help solve challenges faced by farmers around the world. Veea has been developing smart solutions including multiple Edge AI devices, 5G and Private Networks that are changing how technology is used for smart farming and smart agriculture – helping to optimize farming operations, increase sustainability and deliver digital equity with Internet connectivity to underserved rural communities.

Salmasi will discuss how the rural wireless community is successfully addressing the fragmented nature of the IoT industry, helping to bridge the gap for IoT service providers and entities looking to deploy smart solutions efficiently and effectively.

Attendees, who represent the full wireless rural ecosystem, will also gain up-to-the-minute expert analysis and essential information in the areas of:

• Monetizing private wireless systems, including 5G, CBRS, spectrum

• Open RAN technology, legislation and lessons learned in implementing

• How to apply and receive government broadband funding

• Cybersecurity, including Open RAN, cloud, and radio security

• e-SIM technology and security

• Workforce development

• Technical and marketing lessons learned from other state and federal grant and loan programs

Salmasi will deliver the keynote the morning of Wednesday, June 29th, and William Hurley, Veea’s Chief Revenue Officer, will participate in this panel Tuesday, June 28th, at 2PM:

It’s Time to Plant: Farming, Broadband, and the Future

Unlocking the promise of technology during the Industrial Revolution 4.0 presents new opportunities and challenges throughout the modern world. But none more than agriculture, the heart of rural America. Faced with the projected food shortage, the agriculture industry, governments and technology outlets are working together to bring advanced precision agriculture solutions and automation to farms and transform into a digital enterprise.

Ultra-reliable 5G connectivity and edge computing are essential digital infrastructure to bring about this transformation. However, these industries exist in traditionally underserved markets where the “digital divide” is real and limits today’s progress. The Rural Wireless Association and the Rural Cloud Initiative have joined forces to tackle this challenge. Join a panel of industry icons for this “ground-breaking” session as we explore the opportunities and challenges of bringing 5G to rural America.

Moderator: Nancy Shemwell, COO, Trilogy Networks

Presenters: Bill Hurley, CRO, Veea, Inc.; Rebecca Dilg, Broadband Center Director, Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity; Kevin Cabbage, CEO of FMTC, Chairman of the Board of Chat Mobility; Greg Jarman, VP Broadband Partnerships, Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN).

About the Rural Independent Network Alliance

The Rural Independent Network Alliance, LLC (RINA) provides LTE Core hosting and CDMA switching for rural wireless carriers. The formation of RINA was conceived by the management of two rural wireless carriers, UBET Wireless (now STRATA Networks) and South Central Communications, as a method of reducing the costs of switching while enabling the companies to offer improved and enhanced services to their respective customers. Prior to the formation of RINA each company owned their own switch and operated it independently in their respective markets. The companies determined that switching should be consolidated in Roosevelt, UT. Combined switching commenced in January 2006.
