Anritsu and SENKO to Jointly Demonstrate CPO Network and Test Solution at OFC 2022

Allen, TX – February 28, 2022 – Anritsu Corporation (Anritsu) announced a collaboration with SENKO Advanced Components, Inc. (SENKO) to demonstrate a Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) network set up consisting of SENKO’s SN-MT connector using the BERTWave™ MP2110A and Network Master™ Pro MT1040A at OFC 2022. The demonstration will take place in SENKO’s OFC booth (#3239) and measure key performance parameters, such as eye testing and Bit Error rate of 400G DR4.

A CPO 3.2Tb engine is required to interoperate with eight 400G transceivers, such as DR4 and FR4, according to the specification requirement document released by Co-Packaged Optics Collaboration in 2021. Using 400G DR4 transceivers, Anritsu and SENKO will demonstrate the test set up for the CPO application.

The MT1040A is a portable B5-size 400G tester that supports speeds from 10Mbps to 400Gbps with direct QSFP-DD or OSFP modules. It has been developed based on advanced technologies and Anritsu’s experience in various network measurements to meet customers’ needs in high-speed interfaces, optical/IP data communications, high-frequency signals, and Protocol/RF testing. An all-in-one solution with a built-in 4-channel sampling oscilloscope and BERT, the BERTWave is an ideal solution for BER measurements and NRZ/PAM4 eye pattern analyses of 25G/100G/200G/400G/800G optical modules and devices.

SN-MT is a next-generation multi-fiber connector that is developed by SENKO and announced in 2021. SN-MT carries a maximum of 16-fibers in a single row ferrule contained within a regular SN connector footprint. The panel design with SN-MT 16F improves connector density by 2.7x over MPO-16F and 1.3x over MPO-32F. It’s suitable for many applications that require high-density solutions. The SN-MT 16F can accommodate up to a 3456F connection in a 1RU patch panel, where such a high-density solution is perfect for a 1RU height Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) 51.2T switch. By using 64x SN-MT 16F (1024F) on the top of the face plate, sufficient space could still be allocated for External Laser Source (ELS).

“Anritsu is one of the leading companies in the fiber optic network test equipment, and we are pleased working with them” said Jim Hasegawa, Executive Vice President of SENKO. “With this joint demonstration with Anritsu, we can leverage our expertise and hope to accelerate the adoption of CPO in the industry.”

“Our joint demonstration with SENKO will highlight 400G interconnects and networking. Both Anritsu and SENKO have been at the forefront of advancing technologies and it is a natural collaboration of market leaders,” said Hiroyuki Takahashi, GM of Service Infrastructure & Solution Div., Anritsu. “We will continue to contribute to the practical application of CPO technology innovation by providing solutions for device and network testing.”
