Telecom Industry Veteran Brings Decades of Experience to Position Horizon for Enhanced Growth
COLUMBUS, Ohio – November 2, 2021 – Horizon, a fiber-optic broadband company operating out of Columbus, Ohio, announces that it has appointed Joanne Salisbury as the new Senior Vice President of Operations of its commercial fiber division. Salisbury brings more than two decades of telecommunications experience to Horizon’s leadership team, and with this executive appointment, the company positions itself for further strategic growth as a trusted fiber partner throughout the Midwest.
Throughout her tenure in the telecommunications sphere, Salisbury has developed a keen, process-driven understanding of all facets of company operations and grown a host of strategic relationships with carriers. As part of the Horizon team, she will ensure the company remains on track with installation commitments and leverages these strategic carrier relationships to continue expanding its network reach on behalf of its customers and their evolving requirements.

Before joining Horizon, Salisbury served as the VP of Carrier Service Delivery and Vendor Management at FirstLight Fiber, in Albany NY, where she supported her team across the FirstLight footprint and oversaw multiple wireless backhaul deployments, as well as multiple carrier and wholesale installation projects. Salisbury was also instrumental in establishing the vendor management role at FirstLight, enabling the sales teams to extend reach with the use of partner networks. She has also held a range of management roles at Crown Castle/Lightower/FPL Fibernet, Veroxity Technology Partners and Progress Telecom.
