IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Zadara, the recognized leader in edge cloud services, today announced that it has been placed in the ‘leader’ position in GigaOm’s Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) Sonar Report, beating out competitors including HPE, NetApp, IBM, Pure Storage, and more. In the report, Zadara was highlighted for offering a solid and true STaaS model with no initial commitment for users of all sizes; and for being easy to use, with integrated EC2-compatible services.

“Zadara has offered on-demand fully managed services for over a decade and securing the leading spot in this GigaOm report is more validation of our successful model”

GigaOm’s STaaS Sonar report is a new report describing vendor offerings to help IT organizations assess competing solutions in the context of well-defined features and criteria. Zadara achieved a rating of ‘exceptional’ across the board in terms of viability for enterprise adoption, in categories including ease of use, breadth of solution and more.

According to GigaOm’s Enrico Signoretti, “Zadara is the leader because it’s entire business model and product offering has always been based on this consumption model. The other major storage players are scattered across the chart because they all started from a different initial concept and implementation of the service, with some of them focused on infrastructure while others are more targeted toward a cloud-consumption model.”

As the first company to offer enterprise storage as a complete service, Zadara transforms storage-related costs from a variable mix of equipment and management expenses to a predictable, on-demand, pay-per-use, elastic service that greatly simplifies planning, and streamlines budgeting. Zadara’s enterprise-class, consumption-based, fully-managed zStorage edge cloud storage offering is designed to support any data type (block, file, object), any protocol (NFS, CIFS, FC, iSCSI, iSER, S3, Swift and more), in any location (on-premises, across clouds or in a hybrid environment) with the desired performance (flash media and/or hard disk-based). zStorage delivers secure, dependable, and massively scalable storage that can support the most demanding workloads and complex data protection requirements. zStorage offers flash based storage and HDD-based storage with all the data protection features required by modern enterprises.

“Zadara has offered on-demand fully managed services for over a decade and securing the leading spot in this GigaOm report is more validation of our successful model,” said Nelson Nahum, CEO and co-founder of Zadara. “We designed our unique cloud services technology from the beginning to deliver enterprise storage as a fully managed service. MSPs, Hosting providers and enterprises thrive when you remove the immense cost, complexity and burden of traditional data storage and management.”

Zadara’s placement as the leader in GigaOm’s StaaS Sonar Report comes on the heels of several momentum-building partnership announcements with key technology providers including Cyxtera and Zenlayer.
