Huawei’s BladeAAU Awarded “Best RAN Evolution Project”

[London, United Kingdom, September 27, 2021] Huawei's BladeAAU series was awarded the "Best RAN Evolution Project" at the 5G World 2021 Summit hosted by Informa. This award recognizes Huawei's outstanding contributions towards advancing radio access networks and 5G deployment.

BladeAAU packs 5G Massive MIMO antennas and passive antennas into one small form factor, requiring less site space and fitting into various environments. Since its first launch in 2019, BladeAAU has shown its ability to alleviate the challenges found in 5G deployment, becoming the first choice for single-pole 5G construction.

BladeAAU Pro was unveiled in October 2020 as the next-generation of its series. It comes in various dimensions and supports more bands, taking both integration and performance to new heights.

  • The channels on its active antennas increases from 32 to 64 to provide higher capacity.
  • Support 2.3 GHz to 2.6 GHz bands of Massive MIMO, not just 3.5 GHz.
  • Passive antennas have more ports, facilitating transition to all-band deployment.
  • Active and passive antenna modules are independent to make installation more flexible.

BladeAAU series has been put into large-scale commercial use in many countries, such as China, Switzerland, France, Italy, Philippines, and Qatar, helping operators quickly roll out 5G services.

The BladeAAU series also took home the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and GSMA's Best Mobile Network Infrastructure Award earlier this year.

5G World Summit 2021 presents 14 special awards to recognize leading telecom businesses who have made outstanding achievements in 5G. It looks to unleash the potential of 5G and promote its business success around the world. Innovative achievements in 5G wireless access networks, cloud core networks, network automation, service applications, network security, and network sustainability are also showcased at the summit.
