ExteNet Systems Announces Executive Departure

Chicago, Ill. – May 14, 2021 – ExteNet Systems, the leading private owner and operator of converged communications infrastructure delivering advanced mobility and fiber connectivity, today announced the departure of long-time Chief Technology Officer Tormod Larsen from the company. As part of the transition, Mr. Larsen will continue to serve as a technology consultant to ExteNet through September 2021. Mr. Larsen, a Norwegian citizen, will be leaving to pursue personal interests including the Kristoffer Larsen BIG HEART Memorial Foundation which he and his wife, Gry Larsen, founded in the memory of their son in 2016.

A pioneer in the distributed networking space, Mr. Larsen served as Chief Technology Officer of ExteNet for over 16 years. “Tormod has been an exceptional leader and innovator, always thinking pragmatically outside-the-box, and I will miss his contributions and dedication to the company,” said Jim Hyde, President and CEO of ExteNet Systems. “We have long-supported Tormod’s foundation and will make another generous donation to the BIG HEART Memorial Foundation to support the crucial work the organization does to prevent sudden cardiac death among youths and teenagers.

“While 16 years seems long, time has literally flown by from the day I joined ExteNet, then ClearLinx, in November of 2004,” said Mr. Larsen. “I have witnessed ExteNet’s exponential growth from a start-up to our industry leadership position today. I am highly appreciative of everyone that has made this journey possible: our investors throughout ExteNet’s history, management teams, customers, vendors, partners, and, most importantly, everyone on Team ExteNet. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable ride, and I am highly fortunate to have been part of this incredible journey. Our networks are transforming people’s lives, and that is a matter of personal pride for me.”
