[Tokyo, Japan, April 16, 2021] On April 15, Huawei’s innovative intelligent cloud-network solution received the Best of Show Award Special Prize in the field of network infrastructure at Interop Tokyo 2021, Japan’s largest ICT exhibition. The Interop Organizing Committee praised Huawei’s solution, saying it is “highly innovative and ahead of the times. It uses routers that are capable of providing 1000+ slices, accelerating industry-wide digital transformation.”
Interop Tokyo is Japan’s largest and most influential ICT exhibition. The Best of Show Award is Interop Tokyo’s flagship award. Its judging panel is composed of industry experts and top academics. The award winners are the most innovative and technologically advanced products or solutions that deliver high commercial value.
As the global digital economy continues to flourish and industry digitalization gathers speed, clouds and networks are emerging as new infrastructures. In this context, moving mission-critical services to the cloud requires assurance of not only large capacity, but also SLA experience. Since developing the intelligent cloud-network solution in 2020, Huawei has continued to innovate and upgrade this cutting-edge offering to accelerate the digital transformation of industries. By simulating real-world applications in the medical industry, this solution showcased its leading capabilities at the Interop exhibition: hierarchical slicing-based one-fiber multipurpose transport, one-hop cloud access enabled through SRv6-based cloud paths, and one-click fast scheduling implemented through the intelligent cloud-map algorithm. Through continuous innovation, this solution provides differentiated and fine-grained experience assurance for all industries.
Intelligent Cloud-Network: Everything Connected for Ubiquitous Intelligence
As more and more industries look toward adopting clouds, industry private networks need to be isolated, as do different services within such private networks. To meet the requirements of multi-layer network isolation, Huawei innovatively proposes hierarchical slicing in its intelligent cloud-network solution. This feature supports 1000+ slices and allows additional support for application-specific slices on the basis of industry slices, providing fine-grained SLA assurance and experience monetization. Furthermore, iMaster NCE-IP provides visualization and management capabilities for automatic intelligent service flow identification, hierarchical slicing-based bearer assurance, and automatic load-based cloud switchover. The intelligent cloud-map algorithm of iMaster NCE-IP and innovation of SRv6-based cloud paths enable cloud-network coordinated scheduling. Given that each service can be flexibly allocated a different cloud access path that can be automatically optimized, major improvements in cloud access efficiency are achieved.
Upgrade of NetEngine 8000 Series Routers
The NetEngine 8000 intelligent cloud terminal — a brand-new product launched for the intelligent cloud-network solution — debuted for the first time outside of China. It is the industry’s first CPE router that supports 10GE port slicing and offers isolation of multiple services on the enterprise side through one-fiber multipurpose transport, enabling direct connection of the enterprise egress to private networks. NetEngine 8000 M14 — the industry’s only 300 mm deep all-service box-shaped router — enhances the single-port 400GE capability and implements 400GE interconnection on the ShowNet. Furthermore, NetEngine 8000 series routers successfully implemented interconnection in terms of SR-MPLS and SRv6 interworking, as well as SR-MPLS Flex-Algo, based on real service flows on the ShowNet in full compliance with the latest protocol specifications.
Huawei’s intelligent cloud-network solution integrates applications, networks, and clouds. It intelligently identifies applications and provides both industry- and application-specific fine-grained SLA assurance. With the intelligent cloud-map algorithm to coordinate cloud and network resources, this solution brings you accessible computing power. The cloud-network, just like the power grid in the second industrial revolution, will provide new digital momentum for numerous industries and households.
